Wildflowers near some paddocks
One of the paddocks in the countryside
My parents live in Chestnut Street. The tree to the left is a wild chestnut tree and it is already very green and blooming. The tree on the right is a planted chestnut tree. The difference is interesting.

Spring brings lots of birds
The area between the river and the second dyke. It has been created as overflow from the Schelde during heavy rainfall

Mom and dad, ready for the free (bike) ferry across the river
Every half an hour, every day of the year, the ferry goes back and forth across the river Schelde
It is a very quick jaunt

🙂 I did buy my mom a gift certificate for the flower store as well, but I’d rather have her spread the beauty and colors over multiple weeks.

It is. My parents are very fortunate with their surroundings. I just love to walk down the street and be in nature, which is relatively sparse in Belgium.

It looks so nice there. I’ve never been to Belgium, but I’m hoping to go someday… 🙂

Belgium has been called “cute” by my husband. The cities are interesting as well, with their architecture, squares and forts. I hope you can visit one day. But, to move here, it is very crowded…

You have most definitely found Spring. So many great photo galleries to celebrate it. I miss Spring. To much endless summer for me …but really, I guess I can’t complain.

It had been such a long time since I experienced spring. The result is that I really enjoy the fresh green surroundings and bright colors of nature. It is a nice season, I just never realized it before. Having 13 years of perpetual summer does this to you! But, I do miss the tropical climate. One day, you will have spring again as well, and then, you will want your endless summer back! 🙂
