A Life Less Ordinary

WW – Opposites on Wharariki Beach

I have decided to post photos of past travels in general and our eight year sailing adventure on SV Irie in particular for Wordless Wednesdays. I hope you enjoy them. My theme “Opposites” for this week comes from The Daily Post.

Wharariki Beach in Golden Bay, New Zealand

Opposites that come to mind are: sand-rock, dead-alive, arid-lush, air-water, dry-wet, bumpy-flat

Which opposites do you spot when looking at this photo?

  1. Great shot!

    “Smooth and textures.”

    Peta

  2. I love the land-sea contrast 🙂

  3. Shadows and light, black and white!

  4. I like the way the sand dune with its tufty top echoes the shape of the large rock. Same shape, opposing textures!

    • Yes! You say it in such a great way, Anabel. All I could think of was pointy, dry grass and soft, green moss. 🙂

  5. Beautiful! The beaches in NZ are so lovely.

    • They truly are wonderful to walk on and look at. When the sun is out in NZ, almost every photo you take is a winner (I finally finished making a photo album about our time there last year…). Will you be going back there at some point?

  6. I think you’ve got them covered. That photo is magnificent and perfect for the challenge!

  7. Liesbet I was thinking this could be the type of puzzle you see in the newspaper, only far more beautiful. I think you have the opposites covered. What a lovely image.

    • Thanks, Sue. The topic was open to loads of possible photos and interpretations. I’m glad I stumbled across this one, working on a photo album.

This is the place where conversation is made. Please, join in!
